It’s officially 2014, and we’re excited to start a brand new year in the Alumni Association Office. There’s always something exciting about a new year. It’s not always the resolutions, but the idea of starting a new, starting fresh. So, with that fresh start in mind, we’re bringing our 31 Days of Bulldog Country to a close. For the month of December, anyway.
We’ve had a lot of fun over the past 31 days, but we’ve had an even better time over the past year: Hosting new alumni events, like at Running Aces and our first alumni tailgating party; our Nobel Prize winner Brian Kobilka visiting campus; watching alumnus Rob Lundquist win NBC’s The Sing-Off with his a capella group Home Free; an outstanding showing of athleticism and Bulldog Pride with our volleyball, football, soccer and women’s cross country teams this fall; and Coach Curt Wiese being named a Top 5 finalist for Liberty Mutual’s Coach of the Year award (stayed tuned on January 6th for the announcement of all divisional winners!).
There are plenty of other great happenings that took place at UMD and for all our Bulldog alumni in the past year of 2013, and all in the spirit of Those Who Can, Duluth.
From the UMD Alumni Relations office here in Duluth, Minn., we wish you, your families and friends, a very Happy New Year, and we’ll be seeing you in 2014!
