The generosity of UMD alumni and friends contributes greatly to UMD’s thriving and unique environment. Financial gifts help attract the brightest undergraduate and graduate school students who come to UMD “driven to discover”. With nearly 11,000 students currently enrolled at UMD, it’s impossible to get them all together to sign one giant thank you card. So instead, a group of very talented undergraduate students in the UMD Department of Art & Design created videos to say thank you on behalf of their campus.
This past fall semester the video project was presented to the Motions Graphics course taught by UMD faculty member Jennifer Gordon. The students worked in teams of two and were assigned a specific target audience for the video. The goal was to thank donors, highlight real students and their talents, incorporate a happy New Year’s message, and to promote the Those Who Can UMD brand.
Please take a few minutes to watch these short 30-second videos. Our students do amazing things and the generosity of donors fuels their academic, creative, and professional success.
